"Witch Mountain": Scary and Funny

Hi! It's Hazel. I wanted to tell you about "Race to Witch Mountain." It's a very good movie, and I would recommend it for a lot of people.

It's about two aliens whose spaceship crashed, and the government took it away to study it. Meanwhile the aliens are going everywhere, and they meet up with this taxi driver who brings them to the place where a very valuable thing is kept.

Because their parents were scientists, the kids had to get their experiment from earth. Meanwhile an assassin was trying to kill them, and the government is trying to find them, too. In the end they have a scientist who helps them find the spaceship.

So that's mainly all of it. Their special abilities are: the girl Sarah can read minds and can move things without picking them up and talk to animals. The boy Seth can go through any solid objects.

Also, I would not recommend it for anyone under the age of five or for anyone who gets scared easily.

Well, that's all for now. Bye.

Thank you for reading the H&H Report.

Hi! It's me, Harry. I was going to tell you about "Race to Witch Mountain." I liked the part when the alien gets out of the taxi and when the car chasing them touches him, the car explodes. And another funny thing about it is when the taxi driver says, "Aliens look like little green people with antennas and 'bring me to your leader, earthling' stuff."

Another funny part was when the taxi driver tries to open a door and can't, he says, "It's locked from the outside, we're going to have to find another way out." Then the alien reaches through the door, finds the lock, unlocks it, and the taxi driver says, "Or we could do it that way."

I liked the movie because there are a lot of funny parts in it. Thanks for reading part of the movie "Race to Witch Mountain."

Madagascar 2: "Go See It."

Hi it’s me again Hazel!

We watched Madagascar2. They (as in the people who made the movie) showed Alex as a baby. Alex is the lion, King of New York. Marty, the zebra, gets mad because Alex can’t tell him apart with all the new zebras that he met up with. On the other hand, Gloria, the hippo, is mad because everything is going wrong for her. And Melvin, the giraffe, is going to sacrifice his own self because he wants to give water to the people.

Gloria doesn’t let that go, and this evil enemy, Alex’s dad’s evil enemy is acting all nice even though he really isn’t. He does some things so that he can be king, instead of Alex’s dad. He makes up a bunch of lies so that Alex goes out to where he shouldn’t be and winds up almost getting hunted and getting wacked by an old lady.

I approve, and I hope that everybody goes to see the movie. It was really funny. I liked this part when one of those little ring-tailed lemurs, the king, said, “It’s much funner when you put your hands up like this, Weeeeeee!”

And I liked the parts when one of the monkeys put out pictures of the captain of the penguins kissing the doll, and talking to the doll, and asking the doll if it would go out on dates.

Hi my name is Harry. I wanted to tell you about Madagascar2. There was a lion who wanted to be the king. He tried to take the real king’s staff. He tricked Alex the Lion’s dad to go out of the place where he was supposed to be, and then he took the staff. Then Alex’s dad went in to the place where he shouldn’t be and he ends up finding Alex’s dad, and they had no water, and then there was a dam, and the people made the dam, and they kept all of the water to themselves, and then the animals couldn’t have any more water.

And the penguins in Madagascar made a helicopter. It was a bucket and the penguins drove the helicopter, and it broke the dam and then the animals could have water again.

I liked the movie and whoever reads this should go see it, if it’s still in the movie theatres. I liked it because it was sort of funny and once Alex’s mom said, “When he was a little kid, he called his blanket “foo-foo,” and this was funny because he was a big lion then, and his mother gave him his foo-foo, and he and his dad were tugging the foo-foo, and Alex said, “Give me back my foo-foo.”

WALL*E: Just liked it (it's cool).

WALL*E was a junkyard robot. The junk squares are trash made into squares. (Hazel's illustration--Click to enlarge the image.)

Hello, it's me, Hazel. I am here to tell you about a movie. It's called WALL*E. It was about a robot. The robot's name is WALL*E. He was a junkyard robot. One day a spaceship came down and let another robot come out. Its name was EVE. When EVE and WALL*E met, they became friends. That is all I want to tell you. If you want to learn more....see it for yourself. I liked it very much because it was a good film, a nice adventure and I just liked it.

Harry's illustration of EVE (flying) and WALL*E (on the ground). (Click to enlarge the image.)

WALL*E the robot met a robot named EVE. I liked the movie because EVE was cool. Because she had powers. She could turn her hand into a gun. She could fly. She didn't have a neck. It was neat because she could still float around without losing her head. When she slept it was cool because her hands would go into her sides, and her blue eyes would close. --Harry

Area theatres. Rated G. 103 minutes.

"The Water Horse": Good, but Too Scary for the Littlest.

Hi it’s me, Hazel again. I am here to tell you about “The Water Horse.” First thing I want to tell you is the movie it’s self is a little scary. It is an old Scottish legend about a Water Horse. Water Horses are make believe. It’s just a legend. But I think little kids shouldn’t watch it. I just don’t think so. Oh and there are some loud war scenes but nobody dies.

Now I will tell you what the movie was about. This boy finds this egg and a Water Horse hatches out of it and they become best friends. When the sister finds out about it she’s in the bathroom and she screams! Then at the end when the mom found out, she’s like, “Oh my gosh!” It is a really sad tale, but it is also a nice tale.

And there were cannons to shoot the submarines. There was a boat with a light on it. And there was a gun on it to shoot the water horse. They were trying to get the water horse and there was a big net to catch the submarines. And at the end the boy never saw the water horse again. It was a very happy story. Bye. --Harry.

  • The Chipmunks: Funny.

I liked the movie “Alvin and the Chipmunks” because Dave put the Chipmunks in the garbage can. Dave’s alarm was the song from “Sponge Bob Square Pants,” which was funny.

I liked it because near the end the uncle grabbed a box and drove in a car to France and when he opened the box all he realized was the chipmunks in the box were toy chipmunks that spoke French. That was funny.

At the beginning, when they got to Dave’s house, Dave heard them singing and he asked “You can sing?” and then Simon said “That’s not singing” then they started singing the song “Funky Town” and they started a funny dance.

When Simon looked into the cupboard he found lots of food and he said “Hello gorgeous” and started dumping the food everywhere.

Dave saw things move and he didn’t know that something was inside the things until he saw the chipmunks. After he opened his eyes, Dave saw squirrels and they were talking and then he closed his eyes again and he said “I’m not talking to talking squirrels” and then they said “Nice one, dude. We’re talking chipmunks, not squirrels." --Cole, 6, and Leo, 4.

Review: "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything"

Hi my name is Hazel. I and my family went to a movie called the “Pirates Who Don’t Do Anything.” I am here to tell you what it was about. Well it had this song called “Rock Monster” instead of “Rock Lobster.” I thought it was really funny and good. When it was done while I and my mom, Cathy, were in the bathroom I said, “We should rent or buy this movie .” I mean the movie I’m talking about. Let me give you a tip now. I think you should rent the movie when it comes out, or see it at the movie theatre, take my advice. It’s a Veggie Tales movie for kids.

I’ll tell you what it’s about. It’s about a show but it turns into a real big mess. Well, you see, this prince and princess they got captured by the king’s brother. So she got a help-seeker that her father had made, it’s just a little device. So she told the help-seeker that they really needed big help, so she told it, “We need heroes. Go out and find some.” And it brought back the three people.

It was really funny because it was a rowboat, and this guy said, “Oh, this is just good. Now we will go and tell our girlfriends the good news and the bad news. I lost my job as a cabin boy in the show, but the good news is that I got a rowboat!” That was really funny, as well as the cheese curls. They were little biting ones.

I like the part where the guy who was just pretending to fight the people off the ship. The sea monster that was electric was just pretending to be a real monster. It was mechanical. The part where the guy said “The blue ball’s beeping” because he thought it was time to go home, it was funny. It was funny because he thought it was time to go home. –Harry.
